Reigning Miss World, Ivian Sarcos, crowned the new Miss World Kenya, 20 year old, Shamim Nabil last Saturday, 26th of May held at the Hillpark Hotel in the country’s capital Nairobi.
Miss Sarcos arrived in the East African nation along with Julia Morley, chairperson of Miss World organisation; Amanda Vilanova, Miss World 2011 second runner-up; and Alize Lily Mounter, Miss England World 2011 last Thursday, May 24. Upon arrival, they visited a number of landmarks and continued with the Water for Life charity campaign in the country.
Outgoing Miss World Kenya Susan Onyango and Terry Mungai, Miss World Kenya franchise director, were amongst those who warmly welcomed the Miss World team when they arrived. Miss Onyango also assisted Miss Sarcos in the crowning of the new Miss World Kenya, Shamim Nabil.
Miss Nabil is set to compete in the Miss World 2012 pageant to be held in Ordos city in Inner Mongolia, China on August 18.
