The Miss World organisation has finally confirmed today, May 2, the news that was looming around the world of pageantry that the Miss World 2013 will be staged in Indonesia. The beautiful island of Bali and the city of Jakarta are jointly hosting the event. This will be the first time that the country is hosting a G4 pageant and the first for any South East Asian nation to host the Miss World.
The news on the archipelago as the choice for Miss World 2013 came out when Julia Morley, chairperson of Miss World organisation, and reigning queen, Ivian Sarcos, visited the country last week and attended the finals night of the Miss Indonesia 2012. Local media were the first to announce the hosting of Indonesia and most were pointing to Bali as the preferred place. However, in the website of Miss World, two locations were chosen – Bali and Jakarta.
