Ivian Sarcos, together with Julia Morley, chairwoman of Miss World Organisation, were in Beijing, China last Friday to officially launch the 62nd edition of Miss World. Present during the event were tourism officials and leaders of Ordos City in the Dongsheng District. Aside from them, Miss World 2007 Zhang Zilin and China’s delegate to Miss World 2011, Liu Chen were also present.
Ordos City is located in the region of Inner Mongolia, northern part of China. District officials are optimistic that the hosting of Miss World 2012 will boost tourism and economy to the region. The Dongsheng National Fitness Centre in the city, a seating capacity of 50,000, is where the staging of the pageant will be held.
Miss World 2012 will be from the 20th of July to the 18th of August, which will be participated by more than 120 delegates worldwide. On finals night, Ivian Sarcos will crown her successor.
