Eighteen beautiful delegates from all states of Australia have gathered for a tree planting event and clean up drive on Wednesday. True to the advocacy of Miss Earth in saving and protecting mother Earth, delegates planted numerous seeedlings and plants along the barren hills of Mount Carmel in Minto, NSW together with Maria James, National Director of Miss Earth Australia, Councilor Fred Borg of Campbelltown Council, priests and nuns of Mount Carmel Retreat Centre, and the contestants’ supporters.
After the tree planting event, they had a Clean Up Drive at Eagle Farm Reserve, where they had time and fun collecting plastics and other non-biodegradable materials dump in the reserve and nearby lake. Though tiring, the day was an eventful for all of the girls and everyone who participated in the Clean Up Drive.
Finals night of the annual beauty pageant will be held on the Roundhouse of the University of New South Wales on Friday, 4th of November. Winner of Miss Earth Australia 2011 will be Australia’s representative to the annual Miss Earth competition to be held in Manila, Philippines on the 3rd of December.
