Miss International 2011: People’s Choice Week 1

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

A week has passed since I put up an online poll as to whom should be crowned Miss International 2011  (Voting, by the way, is still on until the 4th of November.) and I am amazed at how it turned out the past week. More than 12,000 votes were cast and still counting, pageant fanatics worldwide have chosen the 20 girls most deserving of the crown.

Leading is Miss Philippines, Dianne Necio, a gorgeous lady with a vibrant smile. She is followed by the stunning and equally deserving, Kristen Little from USA. Misses Colombia (Natalia Valenzuela), Thailand (Kantapat Preedachainarin)  and India (Ankita Shorey) completes the top five.

Delegates from Venezuela (Jessica Barboza), Ecuador (Maria Fernanda Cornejo),  Puerto Rico ( Desiree Del Rio), Nicaragua and Guam (Katarina Martinez) dominates the 6th to 10th position. Not surprising at all as most avid supporters of pageants are from these countries excluding Guam. Interestingly  is Adriana Dorn’s ( Nicaragua) inclusion in the ten most -voted to be crowned Miss International, even though, she is now no-where to be found in the official list of candidates of the competition. This only proves how voters like her to win the crown.

Completing the top 20 are representatives from Hawaii (Shanna Nakamura), Mexico (Karen Higuera), Sweden (Denice Andree), Canada (Elishia Sahota), Australia ( Brooke Nash), Slovak Republic (Dusana Lukacova), Argentina (Camila Valdez), Paraguay (Stephania Vasquez), Zimbabwe (Lisa Morgan) and Peru (Maria alejandra Chavez).

Despite the fact that there are few more weeks to go before the pageant night, it is still too early to tell who will actually win the coveted crown. However, people’s choices are barometers of what we are going to expect on that night.
